Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy

Last updated: September 2025
1. Introduction

Dawson Jones Recruitment Ltd (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our business and supply chains. We take our responsibility seriously, acting ethically and with integrity, and implementing systems to safeguard against any form of exploitation.

Although we are a small business and not legally required to publish an annual statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we believe in demonstrating our commitment to ethical practices.

2. Our Business

Dawson Jones Recruitment provides recruitment services to organisations within the public sector, not-for-profit, and education markets across the UK. While we do not operate in high-risk sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, or logistics, we remain vigilant to any potential risks associated with recruitment.

3. Our Policy Commitments

We are committed to:

  • Acting with integrity in all business relationships.
  • Ensuring there is no modern slavery, forced labour, or human trafficking within our business or supply chain.
  • Raising awareness among employees, contractors, and partners about the risks of modern slavery.
  • Ensuring candidates are recruited fairly and transparently, with no exploitation at any stage.
4. Due Diligence in Recruitment

As part of our recruitment processes, we:

  • Verify candidate identity and right to work in the UK in line with Home Office guidance.
  • Ensure candidates are fully informed about roles, terms, and conditions before engagement.
  • Refuse to work with any organisation or individual known to engage in exploitative practices.
5. Supply Chains and Partners

Although our supply chains are limited, we expect all suppliers and partners to uphold the same high standards. Where appropriate, we may request assurances or policies from third parties confirming their compliance with the Modern Slavery Act.

6. Training and Awareness

We provide training and resources to our staff to ensure they can:

  • Recognise potential signs of modern slavery or human trafficking.
  • Report concerns promptly and confidentially.
  • Promote ethical and compliant recruitment practices at all times.
7. Reporting Concerns

Concerns relating to modern slavery within our business or supply chain can be reported confidentially to info@dawsonjones.co.uk. All reports will be taken seriously and fully investigated.

8. Review

This policy is reviewed annually to ensure it remains effective, up to date with best practice, and compliant with legal requirements.
